Earlier this fall, MVHS Senior Kathryn Bellew signed with Life University to continue her swimming career in college. Kat has been swimming since she was 8 years old. Due to a shoulder injury, Kat was forced to sit out her entire freshman season but she came back to win “Most Improved Swimmer” her sophomore year. She then followed that up by earning Big 8 All-Conference her junior year. Her favorite events are the 100 yd and 200 yd freestyle.
In college, Kat hopes to continue to swim these two events while balancing her academic studies. She has been accepted into the Doctor of Chiropractic Program and plans to obtain a minor in Business. When asked why she chose Life University, Ms. Bellew indicated that it was because this is the only university in the US with the degree program she wants in combination with having a swim team. Life University is located in Marietta, GA, and competes in the NAIA Mid-South Conference.
We are proud of you and wish you all the best!
