Girls Varsity Softball · Spring Senior Spotlight: Kaaleigh Krieger

{We are taking this opportunity to spotlight our MVHS spring sport seniors!  Since their seasons may be cut short at best, we wanted to to share their stories with our community and lift them up in these most trying times.  It may be “just sports,” but behind all of that are some outstanding young people who simply hope to wear the maroon & gray alongside their teammates one more time!  All spring sport seniors who have signed up via FinalForms have been sent a google form along with a request for a spotlight picture.  As these are received, they will be shared with you.  Pass it on and let’s see if we can get 100% participation on this from the MVHS Class of 2020! #ALLIN  #WEAREMV  #MVCLASSOF2020}

Spring Senior Spotlight:  Kaaleigh Krieger

Name:  Kaaleigh Krieger

Nickname:  kkriegs

Spring Sport:  Softball

Who introduced you to the sport?  My dad introduced me to the sport, I’ve played this sport since I have been old enough to know what it is.

Favorite Number:  My favorite number is seven, this has always been my favorite number because it is considered perfect in the Bible.

Pregame Rituals/Superstitions:  I started a pre-game ritual last year where I would come in early and hit off the tee before a game for about fifteen to thirty minutes. It would just be me and it helped me get into the correct mindset for the game.

Favorite Spring Sport Memory:  My favorite spring sport memory was when I hit a walk-off home run in the second round of sectionals. The feeling that I had when everyone in that stadium stood up and was cheering for me and only me was completely crazy and there is absolutely no other feeling like that.

Least Favorite:  My least favorite memory was when I got into a slump, I’m extremely hard on myself therefore when I get into a slump my overthinking would make it worse. It takes a lot of discipline to get your mind right after that.

Favorite place to compete:  MV

Goals for this season’s sport:  I really wanted a chance to try to win conference for a third year in a row and maybe advance in sectionals.That would’ve made my senior year.

Hero/Inspiration: Most Influential Person:  My Dad

Plans after high school:  I plan to attend USI and I plan to become a Physician Assistant.

Favorite Food:  mac and cheese

Favorite Subject/Class:  Math

Favorite Spectator Sport:  Baseball

Thanks for playing, Kaaleigh!  And, thank you for being a student-athlete at MVHS!  #ALLIN  #WEAREMV  #MVCLASSOF2020
