Boys Soccer · Soccer Cats Win Thriller At Princeton

The boys varsity soccer team traveled to Princeton Monday evening to take on the Tigers. Senior Braden Dike opened the scoring midway through the first half. Junior Zach Culley had the assist. The score of 1-0 held through the end of the first half.
After the break Seniors Gabe Owens and Xavier Angel connected with Owens scoring the goal and Angel the assist. The game remained 2-0 in favor of the Wildcats until late when Princeton scored to cut the lead to one. Moments later Mt. Vernon stretched the lead back to two with a goal for Culley off of a corner kick from Freshman Grant Doherty. The final score was 3-1.
The Cats return home Thursday to take on the Harrison Warriors at 5:30.
