Mount Vernon High School (Mt. Vernon) vs Crawford County High School

In a week that has seen the weather change from torrential downpours to cool temps to today’s oppressive heat, the MV harriers are to be commended for their efforts! Only 4 guys ran today in a huge class invitational with 35 schools being represented. It took 5 guys for a team score, however, and Mt. Vernon only had 4. The course at Crawford County High School is a “true” cross country course in that it has wooded trails and turns, but it also has one of the toughest 1/2 mile loops on the schedule, and the runners get to do it twice!

Tommy Kelley ran an impressive race running in 10th place most of the time during the Junior/Senior race. He ended up 14th out of 147 overall in the combined race but he was an impressive 8th out of 80 juniors earning him a medal for being top 15. Had all 4 classes been combined, Tommy would have been 24th out of 295 runners on the day.

Danner Latshaw finished the day in 25th place for his senior class (67 runners), 57th out of 147 in the combined race and 99th out of 295 on the day.

Mitchell Wilson battled an ankle injury to finish in 57th place in the senior race while Seth Dewar finished 55th out of 74 in the sophomore race.
