On a night much more conducive to running, the MVHS Boys’ CC team ran its way to a 4th place finish at the Princeton Invite. Jasper edged out Reitz by a single point. Mt. Vernon defeated conference opponents Boonville, Washington and Vincennes in this pre-Conference meet. Princeton did not field a full team and Mt. Carmel did not participate. (Evansville Christian was the 12th place team with 300 points.)

The ‘Cats were again paced by Tommy Kelley and Braden Dike as the leaders. The guys pushed each other through the race with Braden coming out as our leader today in 14th place overall in his first race on the hilly Princeton course. Tommy completed the course 16th overall. Danner Latshaw ran 3rd again for the ‘Cats in 30th place while Braden Henning was 41st and Mitchell Wilson was 42nd. Seth Dewar was 73rd. The split from 1st to 5th for Mt. Vernon was 2 minutes 17 seconds which continues to show improvement.

The next meet for the ‘Cats will be the Crawford County Class Invitational this Saturday, 9/15.
