The boys basketball team knocked off the Tecumseh Braves Friday night 60-47 to improve to 9-7 overall and 6-3 in the conference. Both teams came out hot in the 1st quarter, and the Wildcats led 22-18. They were able to hold Tecumseh to 6 points in the 2nd quarter and led 33-24. Mt. Vernon also held them to 4 points in the 4th quarter to pull away late and win 60-47.
The Wildcats were led by Senior Noah Gordon with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Nicot Burnett was also in double figures with 10 points. Leo Hostetter had 7 assists and 1 turnover in the backcourt.
The boys will be back in action tomorrow night when they host league leader Heritage Hills at 7:00pm. Gym capacity is set for 25%, and tickets are open to the public and can be bought at this link:
