The girls cross country team traveled to the Crawford County Invitational Saturday. Over 200 runners took to the finish line and four of our Wildcats completed their specific class race. Junior/senior girls representing MV were, Taylor Collins, Kathryn Bellew, and Kennah Keller. Freshman/Sophomore girls were represented by, Kaylen Salee.
Kaylen Salee was up first for the Wildcats taking on this hilly course. Kaylen finished 51st with a time of 28:55.
Up next were our juniors/seniors, Taylor Collins, Kathryn Bellew, and Kennah Keller. Taylor Collins came in at 21st with a time of 23:28. Kathryn Bellew came in her race at 48th with a time of 30:55, and our only junior competing, Kennah Keller cake in her race at 61st with a time of 29:16.
After each class race, the scores are then tallied for a total team score. The Wildcats were unable to score today along with their opponents due to not having the required 7 runners for scoring. Although we came in not having a “full” team, the Wildcat girls came to compete against some of the regions fastest runners. They did this with the best attitudes and never backed down.
Next week, the girls will travel to Pike Central to compete as a “preview meet” of the regional course.
Great job runners!
