Mt. Vernon girls Cross Country finished today as the Big 8 Champions for the 2019-2020 season. The team managed to win by one point again the second place team, Jasper.

The girls each managed to get their best times for the season at the Princeton course. Top 4 finishers for the team and earning an All Conference title were, Kori Leverenz placing 3rd with a time of 19:05. Kaden Leverenz came in at 4th with a time of 19:13. Sophie Kloppenburg places 6th with a time of 19:40. Taylor Collins finishes 9th place with a time of 20:56.

Other finishers who were a huge part in our championship win were runners, Emma Thompson at 14th with a time of 21:39, Alison Long at 22nd with a time of 24:56, and Kathryn Bellew at 27th with a time of 27:13.

The girls will travel to Angel Mounds next week to compete in Sectionals where they are hoping to advance on to the regional meet. Great job Wildcats and congratulations on earning the last title of Big 8 Champions!!!
