The girls cross country team competed at the regional meet this Saturday morning. The meet was held at Prides Creek Park. The girls advanced as a team to this regional meet and knew the course would be competitive but remained hopeful.

The 7 varsity runners for the Wildcats came out in 3rd place advancing them all on to the semi-state meet!!! At the beginning of the season, the girls’ ultimate goal was to make it to semi-state as a team. As their coach, it is awesome to see them make this goal a reality.

The girls came in 3rd today only by a tie breaker against Memorial for 2nd and by only 15 points for 1st place against South Knox.

Our top 7 girls ran a smart race today despite the challenging, hilly course along with the stiff competition. The individual results for the Wildcats were Kori Leverenz 6th, Kaden Leverenz 8th, Sophie Kloppenburg in 9th, Emma Thompson 34th, Taylor Collins 44th, Kathryn Bellew 81st, and Kennah Keller in 82nd.

The girls will all advance on this coming Saturday to compete in the semi-state meet at Eagle Park in Brown County. We are so proud of the 3rd place finish in the region and we are so excited to advance on as a team to take on semi-state!! Great job runners!!!
