Boys Varsity Cross Country · MVXC Boys Season Ends at Regional

Mt Vernon High School - Mt. Vernon 0th 0

Despite an all out effort, MVHS two Regional Qualifiers fell short of their goal of advancing to the IHSAA Semi-state next weekend. Mt. Vernon was represented by Junior Braden Dike and Senior Tommy Kelley as both qualified for the second straight year. Both boys went out hard the first mile putting them in the top 20, but it was a pace they were unable to maintain. Braden finished in 29th place while Tommy finished 55th.

We are very proud of both of these young men for their accomplishments and leadership this fall. Due to leading by example, the younger runners were all able to improve their times over the course of the season and the future of MVHS Boys Cross Country looks bright!

We will miss our lone senior and 4-year letter winner, Tommy Kelley. Needless to say, he has been a mainstay at the front of the pack for our team for the last 4 years. It has been a pleasure to have the opportunity to coach this young man and we wish him the best of luck in both wrestling and track & field yet this year. Thank you for all your hard work, Tommy!
